Invitation to Yogis

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Australian Sahaja Yoga Collective,

Jai Shri Mataji!

With great joy and deep reverence, your brothers and sisters of the Canberra collective invite you to gather for Shivaratri Puja 2026, to be held at Outward Bound, ACT.

Shivaratri is a profound moment in the subtle calendar, a time to witness the silence, grow and collectively worship the eternal principle of Shri Shiva within us. Coming together as a national collective allows us to strengthen our vibrations, deepen our meditations, and offer our pure desire at the Lotus Feet of our Holy Mother, as we worship Her as Sadashiva’s Shakti.

Let us come together in the spirit of love, humility and surrender, to celebrate this auspicious occasion and deepen our connection with our Spirit. We look forward to being in collective joy with you all.

Things to know

  • We have a strict limit on the number of people allowed at the venue. Registrations will be closed once we reach that number, after which there will be a waitlist. If you register and are then unable to come, please inform us as soon as possible so that someone from the waitlist can take your place. Unfortunately this rules out last minute, unregistered visitors.

  • The venue is a pet and nut free area. Strictly no pets and no nuts are allowed.

  • Canberra evenings can be cool, even when the days are hot. Please bring something warm to wear.

  • Please bring a pair of closed shoes. These will be needed for those helping in the kitchen as well as recommended for walking to the river.

  • Mattresses are provided, please bring your own bedding.

  • The venue has several areas which are strictly out of bounds for the weekend. Please take note of the roped off areas and ensure that your children know not to play in them.

We have reached capacity for the venue and registration for the puja has now closed. To be added to the waitlist, please email canberra.collective108@gmail.com.

If you have previously registered but can now not attend, please also inform us (at the same email address) so that your place can be assigned to someone on the waitlist.

“One of the qualities of Shiva is complete detachment, and that is what you have to develop, is to become completely detached. Detachment doesn’t mean that you neglect anything. I’ve explained to you many times that, like the sap in the tree rises, goes to different, various places and then evaporates – or it goes back to Mother Earth – in the same way your detachment should be. If you get attached because it’s your son, or if you get attached because he’s Australian, or maybe he belongs to certain family or certain class, then you are still limited.
All these limitations have to be dropped if you have to cross over. And these limitations create such a big load that, whatever I may try, whatever you may try, you cannot stay in thoughtless awareness.” - Shri Mataji
